Want to make a radical feminist’s head explode? Point out that the Tea Party Movement is dominated by women – that, in part, the Tea Party Movement is a women’s movement.
Because we Tea Party women aren’t living on the pro-abortion plantation, your traditional feminist will refuse to believe that we too are an outgrowth of feminism. But we are. We have rejected the tenets of radical gender feminism to be sure, but we feel quite at home espousing the late 19th/early 20th century brand of equity feminism. Susan B. Anthony is our philosophical ancestor too.
Personally, I feel it’s about time we had our say. The femisogynists (I’m stealing that wonderful term from David Horowitz’s blog) have dominated the discourse long enough.
