Va. may seek ‘remedies’ from publisher of bad textbooks
by Hattie Brown Garrow @ The Virginian-Pilot
The state will consider withdrawing its approval of two history textbooks filled with errors and seek “remedies” from the publisher for school divisions that have purchased the books.
In today’s unanimous vote, the state Board of Education also initiated changes to the textbook-approval process. Members requested that education department staff bring a proposal to the board next month.
Good! And while you’re at it, you should do something about the constructivist math textbooks that have invaded Northern Virginia like a fungus and destroyed the fundamental skills of a whole cohort of young students.
