  1. The USGS continues to insist that quake distribution and frequency hasn't truly changed – not in a statistically significant way. But it does indeed seem odd that we've now had four 5.5 or high quakes in the lower 48 states outside of the west coast (the normal quake zone along the ring of fire). Central New England, Virginia, Oklahoma, South Carolina and under Yellowstone (although that one is probably linked to the cauldera under that park).
